HABITAT FOR HUMANITY MINISTRY

Habitat logo

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization building simple, decent, affordable housing in partnership with people in need.

The Glen Mar team works with Sandtown Habitat for Humanity in Baltimore. Adrienne Taylor coordinates the volunteers and Don Wecker directs our labor on work days. Our current house is 1444 N Mount St., Baltimore, MD 21217.

Glen Mar volunteers work on the 2nd Saturday of each month. Most of us meet in the first parking lot of Glen Mar Church at 8:15 a.m. We leave Glen Mar Church by 8:30 a.m. and carpool or caravan to the Habitat warehouse at 1300 North Fulton Avenue. Some people meet us at the warehouse or the house. Volunteers bring their own water and a lunch, and may bring their own tools if desired. We work until about 3:30 p.m. Please see the Habitat Welcome Letter for more details.

We need helpers, carpenters, painters, and masons. Most of our volunteers gain their experience working on their own homes. If you have an interest while lacking experience or skill, please sign-up and see if God has given you talents in any of these areas. Men, women and older youth are welcome to join our mission. Please sign-up in advance so we can plan work accordingly.
