PEOPLE ACTING TOGETHER IN HOWARD (PATH) MINISTRY
“Had I but one wish for the churches of America
I think it would be that they come to see
the difference between charity and justice...
Charity seeks to alleviate the effects of injustice;
justice seeks to eliminate the causes of it..."
- William Sloane Coffin, Jr., Credo, 62-63.
People Acting Together in Howard (PATH) is a multi-racial, multi-faith, strictly non-partisan, county-wide citizens' organization, rooted in local congregations and associations. PATH assists local churches in action, advocacy, and training of people to solve problems in their own communities and to renew the interest of citizens in public life. There are 15 congregations that are currently members of PATH. Glen Mar has been involved in PATH for five years. Additional information on PATH, including accomplishments, is available at www.path-iaf.org. List of PATH Accomplishments in 2013.
The PATH team at Glen Mar Church is currently working on issues related to aging in place, affordable housing, children’s health and wellness, and environmental jobs. The team also works with the Social Justice Ministry and other outreach ministries to encourage interaction and cooperation with other congregations within Howard County.
